Upload speeds are almost the same as the wired computer at about 9Mbps. Using the cradle and moving the adapter around gives an increase from 4 to tp link tl-wn821nc bars signal strength, but only slightly improves download speeds. One person found this helpful.
TP-Link TL-WN821NC Wireless N USB Adapter
Good piece of kit for those who have a TP Link wireless router and do not have built in Wireless connection. So easy to fit using the mini-CD to download drivers. I got a new TP Wireless router, loaded that and tp link tl-wn821nc it running via Ethernet cable, then went to fit this adapter as the router instructions and Windows tried to force the generic Winows driver. So I suggest loading this before fitting a new TP router to avoid any issues there. A big improvement in speed both up and download over the old 'G' kit.
The extension lead and cradle make little difference in performance on my system but my router is next door on same floor. Tp link tl-wn821nc may well enable you a better signal on a PC if on a different floor as the Adapter can be moved to optimise the signal rather than sitting in the PC USB port.
